Effingham Day at the Capitol
Event Description:
Your 2018 Effingham Day at the Capitol Chamber of Commerce event is fast approaching! New for 2018, we have streamlined the agenda so that the full event is on one day, Monday, January 22, 2018.
The day will begin with Effingham County volunteers distributing our gifts to the legislators at 8:30AM. At 10:00AM, we will all gather in the House Gallery on the 4th floor of the capitol to see the legislature in session. At 11:20AM our group will hear presentations from our legislative delegation, state-wide elected officials and Constitutional Officers with boxed lunches provided in capitol room 230. Lunches will be available starting at 11:10AM.
Monday evening’s reception will be from 4:30-7:00PM at the Georgia Railroad Depot. We are fortunate once again to have Senator Jack Hill, Majority House Leader Jon Burns, and Representative Bill Hitchens joining us, along with many other influential legislators and state leaders.
The total cost for this event, including round-trip bus transportation to Monday evening’s reception from the hotel is only $135 per person payable to Effingham Chamber of Commerce by January 12, 2018. For your convenience, the Chamber has reserved a block of rooms for two nights (Sunday, January 21 and Monday, January 22, 2018) at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta at a special low rate of only $159 per night. For reservations, please contact the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta directly at 404-659-0400 and use our group name “Effingham Day”. Rates outside the Effingham Chamber block of rooms are substantially higher so please make sure you book no later than December 21, 2017 to be eligible for this discounted rate.
