Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wichers has been a Senior Aerospace Science Instructor for ten years and currently is the SASI for the Effingham County High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. He had a distinguished career in the private sector and as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, serving a total of 23 years both on active duty and in the Georgia Air National Guard. He has experience in the following industries: education, workforce development, telecommunications and manufacturing.
Colonel Wichers has a BA in Political Science from the University of North Georgia, a Masters in International Relations from Troy University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Auburn University. He is a Certified Mediator, Certified Practitioner of the Myers- Briggs Type Indicator and a Professional in Human Resources as recognized by the Society of Human Resources Management. He is also fluent in French, German, Dutch and Spanish and is conversant in Arabic. He has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for 35 years. His daughter, Shannon, is married to a West Point graduate, and his son, Judson is a C-130 Load Master in the Georgia Air National Guard. He has two grandsons.
