Event Description:

Since Project Camellia was announced, our community has been asking thoughtful questions about large-scale data center development—including infrastructure, water, energy, environmental considerations, economic development, and community impacts.

The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce believes one of its most important roles is bringing people together around issues that matter to our business community and our region. To help foster informed community understanding, the Chamber is convening two Data Center Information Sessions on Wednesday, August 26.

Designed for both business leaders and the broader community, these sessions will bring together recognized subject matter experts and local leaders for an educational, moderated discussion informed by questions from our community.

Panelists will provide brief introductory remarks within their respective areas of expertise, followed by a moderated discussion addressing questions and topics submitted by attendees. Registrants will have an opportunity to submit questions in advance so they can be organized by topic and directed to the appropriate subject matter experts.

Our goal is a respectful, substantive, and educational discussion that helps attendees better understand large-scale data center development, the considerations associated with these facilities, and the potential impacts and opportunities communities may evaluate as they consider this type of development.

Topics are expected to include artificial intelligence and modern data centers, energy and electrical infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, community and economic development, local government processes, and other questions submitted in advance by registrants.

Two sessions will be offered to accommodate different schedules:

Business & Community Leaders Session
Designed primarily for employers, business owners, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and community leaders.

Evening Community Information Session
Open to all residents and community members.

Attendance is free. Registration is required. Additional speaker announcements and program details will be shared as they are finalized.

We look forward to welcoming you for an informative community discussion.
